Tuscan Villa for Rent

 

We are a couple from the UK who have been happily settled in the beautiful Tuscan countryside since 2004.

 

We have a spacious self-contained apartment available for rent which sleeps 8 people.  The apartment is set on a beautiful mountainside with beaches and ski slopes all within easy driving distance.  We will happily arrange airport transfers, walking routes, and walking guides, and are close at hand in the same hamlet to help with any requirements you may have.

 

This is also the home of the infamous “Tuscan Tales” so if you are considering a move to Italy, or simply looking forward to a rural break then you may find the tales to be of particular interest.

 

Lunigiana is an ancient region which is mainly in Tuscany, but due to changes to municipal boundaries also dips into Liguria slightly and extends into Emilia Romagna.

 

Lunigiana was was the last stronghold of the pagan Moon (La Luna) worshippers in Italy and our locals still use the moons phases for sowing, harvesting - and even getting their hair cut!

 

We are in the northern region of Tuscany and Pontremoli is situated on the A15 which runs from Parma to La Spezia, which is on the coast between Pisa and Genoa.

 

Parma, Pisa and Genoa airports serve our region and the main train line to Bologna, Parma, Pisa, Genoa, Milan and Florence pass through Pontremoli.

 

We are in Tuscany, the northern region, directly up the A15 from La Spezia on the coast (situated between Pisa and Genoa). Our town of Pontremoli has its own exit on the Autostrada and is on the main Milan to Florence train line.

 

 

8km from the town – 5 of which wind up a tree canopied country road to our little borgho of 7 houses, two of which are ours. We are surrounded on three sides by sweet chestnut forest which has a huge variety of wild life and fabulous fauna.
